Grapes
The combination of a crunchy texture followed by an explosion of sweet, juicy flavour makes grapes a deliciously refreshing snack and a popular addition to salads, desserts and even savoury dishes. The most versatile of fruit, grapes are eaten ‘as-is’ or used for making wine, vinegar, raisins, fruit juice, jam, jelly, grape seed extract, grape seed oil and even some drugs. Antioxidants found mainly in the skins and seeds of grapes are being investigated for their possible role in the inhibition of heart disease and some cancers.
