- Working Women's Tips
- If you are like many other working women who simply forget to eat when they get caught up in their chaotic daily schedules, why not put some of that technology to good use? Simply set up a reminder on your electronic calendar or cellphone to prompt you to have some fruit or veggies mid-morning and mid-afternoon? After a while, you won’t need to be reminded!
- Prepare a pot of veggie soup and freeze individual portions in microwaveable containers. On days when you don’t have time to prepare lunch before work, grab soup from the freezer on your way out the door!
- Keep track of how many vegetables and fruit you eat each day in your diary. You are more likely to achieve your goal of a minimum of 5 servings of vegetables and fruit a day if you stay focused and aware of your habits!
- Keep your freezer stocked with oven bake potato chips and other frozen veggies to make meal preparation quick and easy on those days when you are pressed for time.
- Keep a well stocked fruit bowl on your desk at work so that you always have fresh fruit on hand.
- Make sure you pop 2 servings of fruit (fresh, dried or
100% pure unsweetened fruit juice ) into your bag each morning along with your lipstick and perfume.
- Start your day with an energy boosting fruit smoothie (add wheat germ or seeds and nuts for an extra boost).
- Keep raisins, prunes and dried fruit rolls in your desk drawer for those snack attacks.
- At least twice a week make your lunchtime meal a salad or vegetable soup.
- Never leave the supermarket without at least 5 vegetable and fruit items in your trolley.
