Colour Me Healthy
Orange/Yellow
Try not thinking of peeling an orange. Try not imagining the juice running down your fingers, the soft inner part of the peel. The smell. Try and you can't.
- Doug Coupland
Orange and yellow are the ultimate ‘feel-good’ comfort colours, representing health, vitality and protection. Think of summer sunshine, fields of sunflowers and golden honey – they ooze life and well being! In the same way that orange is often worn for safety, surround yourself with protective orange and yellow veggies and fruits.
Orange / yellow veggies and fruits are rich sources of phytochemicals such as carrot orange beta carotene and flavonoids. Along with vitamin C these phytochemicals are being studied for the role they may play in slowing aging and reducing the risk of heart disease and some cancers.
